MOSAIC VIRUS IN PLANTS: THIS IS HOW YOU RECOGNIZE IT AND YOU CAN DO THIS

Of course, we have our hands more than full with the coronavirus. Nevertheless, it is wise to take a closer look at your plants when it comes to viruses. Fortunately, you can already rule out corona. What is common in plants? The mosaic virus.

The mosaic virus
The mosaic virus is actually a large collective name for a group of harmful and common plant viruses. The name is not so far fetched: it leaves a mosaic print on the leaves. A pattern of light green, dark green and often yellow spots. That in itself is not so bad, because you get an original plant. But unfortunately there is more to it.

The mosaic print is caused by a serious disturbance in the chlorophyll management. Over time, the leaves curl up and you see more and more withered spots. Eventually the leaves completely yellow and deformities arise on the roots, shoots, leaves and any fruits. The infected plant wilts and is usually beyond saving.
